One of the Director of Ravshandilon was building a hotel in Rushan. He approached us to see if we wanted to build out a large room on the top floor of the hotel into an education center. The idea behind the center was to provide for a space where students could be provided assistance in college admission preparation, for English classes and for video conferencing of educational sessions from Dushanbe or any other offsite location. We thought this was a good idea and funded $5,000 for the buildout of the room and to furnish it with furniture for a classroom setting and for electronic equipment to allow for videoconferencing. This classroom has been used on an on-going basis for training for a few years. At times, the classroom has been rented by third parties and the rent collected has been used by Ravshandilon towards other projects in Tajikistan.
